LAN support for 2+ campaigns is another story though, being in the room together would basicly make it a tabletop without the table. Would mean a -TOTAL- overhaul of the engine, AI, mechanics, pathfinding, economy etc etc. Still a moot point regardless: Total War Campaign games are just not designed for a system where everybodies moves are resolved at the same time, the campaignmap just doesnt work that way. This is how it's done in most turn-based 4x games and these have shown it's not that great of a solution. Even then you'll have to wait for the others oftentimes (i.e. Only way this works if turns play out simultaniously (Everybody does their stuff at the same time, presses -end turn- and the turn resolves as soon as everybody has ended their turn). I like micromanaging my empires in these games, spending 40-60 minutes on a single turn in the late game is a common thing. Imagine having to wait for half an hour+ for the other dude to get his things in order.
Especially once empires get larger and you have more stuff to manage.
